Trev in EdinburghMy involvement in higher education started in 1991 when I joined the University of Birmingham (UK) as a programmer in the Centre for Computer-based Learning led by Dr Mike Beilby. The centre worked with individual academics to develop bespoke teaching, learning and assessment applications. The Web was in its embryonic stage in 1991 and much of the work carried out by the CCBL using Asymetrix Toolbook.
Today, I am still at the university. My role has changed over the years but I have always been involved in the use of technology to support learning and teaching. Now I am the eLearning Team Manager in charge of a small central team responsible for supporting e-learning across the university.
